The Faculdades EST has as its mission to promote Teaching, Research and Extension, seeking academic excellence and contributing to the capacity building for ethical professionals who seek to promote, through their professional performance, human dignity and solidarity. For this reason it is constituted as an educational center for higher learning which, through ethics and the quality of teaching, promotes the transversality of the sciences and human dignity with a broad and constructive social perspective.
As an institution tied to the IECLB, the Faculdades EST bases its action on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, on the commitment to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century and its important contribution to education, always in an ecumenical perspective. Precisely because of this, it is an institution which values cultivating a spirituality in which people are invited to freely live out their love of God in their personal, professional and social relations. These are the philosophical and educational presuppositions which tie it to solid humanist traditions, and which make it capable of contributing to a democratic, pluralistic and solidary society with all people, especially the more vulnerable of the Brazilian society.
As a consequence of these foundations, the Faculdades EST guides its educational proposal by the following principles, which constitute the end goals of its educational activities.
a) Encouragement of critical and creative reflection which promotes human well being in all its dimensions.
b) Excellence in Teaching, Research and Extension from a perspective of basic and continuing education;
